PAITON, Probolinggo – On Tuesday, August 29, 2023, Nurul Jadid University (UNUJA) in Paiton, Probolinggo, organized a significant event, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Directorate General for Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (DItjen PEID) under the Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Kementerian Desa PDTT).
The event took place during a seminar with the theme “Empowering Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDES) in Certification, Commercialization, and Digitalization of Local Products Towards Economic Independence of Villages” in Probolinggo Regency, East Java.
This agreement signing marks the next step following a previous memorandum of understanding between UNUJA and the Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia.
The event, held in the Wisma Dosen Hall, was attended by Deputy Rector I, H. Hambali, M.Pd., the Head of the Publishing, Research, and Community Service Institute (LP3M), Dr. Achmad Fawaid, M.A., M.A, as well as several experts and village facilitators from Probolinggo Regency.
On the side of the Ministry of Village, Agus Hartanto, S.T, M.S.i, a Junior Policy Analyst at Kemendes, Achmad Faridi Suja’ie, an Advisor to the Minister, and Muhammad Nuruddin, a Community Empowerment Practitioner, along with three other staff members, attended the event.
As the executor of the self-reliance program in Probolinggo Regency for the year 2023, UNUJA plays a crucial role in assisting BUMDES in achieving economic independence for rural areas.
Fawaid emphasized the importance of these efforts in helping BUMDES obtain trademarks, copyrights for e-commerce, and halal product certificates while enhancing the capacity of BUMDES human resources to compete and thrive in various village contexts.(*)
